CWC: Ritz Chicken

(Photo from Passionate Penny Pincher)

I was going through one the many blogs that I follow and came acros this receipe from Passionate Penny Pincher. It is a really simple receipe that involves Ritz Crackers!

Now I put this on Cooking w/Coupons because if you have been coupon clipping the last few weeks, you should have a coupon for Nabisco Products, which I do, plus you can also get a coupon for Ritz Crackers using your points from MyCokeRewards.com (if you don't have an account, get one!). This is a really simple receipe and it looks delicious. Only 5 ingredients, I have everything but the Ritz, which I plan on getting really soon.

Want this recepie? Here you go Ritz Chicken Recepie

If any of you make this before I do, please share your picture, I would love to hear your comments.

CWC: Free Breakfast Taco & 32oz. Drink

Good Morning my wonderful Readers! Hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday. This morning I had to stop at Stripes to put gas and while I was there I couldn't help myself, the smell of the breakfast tacos was calling me. So, I went through my purse, pulled out my Stripes coupons and got myself a free breakfast. Yes, it was free!

I used the "Free Original Breakfast Taco" and the "Free 32oz. Drink" coupons. If you remember from my last post "Eating at Stripes" I put a picture of the coupons that I got from my bank. I didn't eat breakfast at home this morning and decided that since I was already there putting gas, I would get myself a free breakfast. Don't you just love coupons? I know I do. It's amazing what you can get with coupons.

CWC: Eating at Stripes

Ok, ok, so you are probably saying to yourself "Molly, you have not cooked with your coupons, you are only showing what you are eating with your coupons". Well, I think it's the same thing. Since lunch time is where you probably spend the most money because you are working and don't know what to eat, then coupons come in handy.

I work within walking distance to a Stripes Store. If you have a Stripes where you live, then you know how great the food is. One of the ways that I have been able to save on my work lunches is with Stripes coupons. Yes, Stripes has their own coupons. Where do I get them? I get them from my local credit union. I have an account with them and they send me the coupons with my bank statement, my husband has account there also and he gets one too, then he has another account at another credit union and gets them from that one as well. That's alot of coupons! Here is what they sent me this month

Great coupons right? Of course they are.

Now, the other day I was in a rush and forgot to bring my lunch, so I decided to walk to the Stripes with my coupons and get lunch, very inexpensive. Now, I walk to the store because it literally does not take me that long to get there, I have to use the cross-walk. If you are going to do this, then make sure you obey and observe all cross-walk signs, walk when the light tells you to and always look both ways before crossing.

As you can see from the coupons there is alot of free stuff, so here is what I had for lunch on Tuesday

Two lunch tacos, chicken and beef and a 32oz. drink. I used the "Free 32.oz Drink" and "Buy One Lunch Taco get the 2nd Taco Free"!

Yummy, the lunch tacos are $1.99 each, so in other words, I got two for the price of one and a free drink. You have to do this in two transactions. I only paid $2.15 for the taco. I didn't waste my gas and I didn't pay $1.25 for a 20oz drink at our Coke machine at work either. Now that is a great savings, in my opinion.

So there you have it, an awesome, free and frugal lunch. If you have a Stripes near you, you can also like their Facebook page and every Monday check out their Prize Cooler. They put coupons there as well.

What coupons have you used to save on lunch and family dinners?

CWC: Digorno

Well, today's Cooking w/Coupons work lunch was super good. Although, it wasn't actually cooked, I did buy it with a coupon. And that's what this series is all about, cooking and eating with your coupons.

Today's lunch consisted of a Digornio Pizza for One, a Quaker Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Granola Bar and a beverage.

The coupon I used for today's lunch was "Save $1.00 on any Two Digornio for One Products", so I bought the traditional crust and the deep dish. I ate the deep dish during the weekend (no one knew what to eat, so we just ate anything), and let me tell you, that little pizza for one was super good. I also used a "Save $1.00 on any Two Quaker Products", we love these, and then we still have drinks from my husband's work, so no spending $1.25 on drinks at work. Here is my lunch

This was super good! I ended up cutting the pizza into fours and it was easy to cut into, not hard at all and super cheesy. I got filled up with this.

Now, here is the breakdown, the pizzas were $2.98 each which came out to $5.96 total and I used the Save a $1.00 on two which made it $4.96, so I figured 2 for $5 instead of 2 for $6 (that's how I like to see it). The Quaker Oats were $2.12 a box, and we bought two which came out to $4.24, and I used the Save $1.00 on Two which came out to $3.24.

So did I really save? I like to think so. Another day of eating in, instead of eating out. That's my thinking.

What have you cooked or eaten with your coupons lately?

Cooking w/Coupons

Welcome to my new series "Cooking w/Coupons". This series will show you how to cook and bake foods using nothing but your coupons. I will also show you how to save money on your work lunches as well.

One of the biggest challenges I face each day is, what to eat for lunch. Since I have a full-time job, I am limited to what I can eat during that one hour. I used to spend alot of money going out to McDonalds, Dairy Queen, Church's, Sonic, the list goes on and on (mainly because these places are near my work!). Mostly, I would spend a good 20 minutes just driving and being in line at the drive-thru, so there goes half my lunch hour right there. I finally decided that it was time to cut down. Since I started couponing last year, I no longer go out to eat everyday and I buy microwave meals and/or make food at home and bring the leftovers from home. So to start off the beginning of this series, I am sharing what I had for lunch today. Not only did I not go out to eat, but this meal was bought during my shopping trip from Saturday and I used a coupon. This is what I had

This was so good! I love the Barilla products. They were only $2 at our local H-E-B Plus and I had (2)$1.00 off any Barilla Product coupons. I used both coupons, they came out to $4.00 total and with the coupons I only paid $2.00 which made the meals $1.00 each! So, not only did I not go out to eat, waste my car's gas, & waste time in a drive-thru, I had a delicious $1.00 microwave meal and since my husband works for a beverage company, he came home with free drinks from their employee appreciation week, so no buying drinks at work.

This is just the beginning of this series. I hope you will share what foods you make with your coupons. How do you save money on family dinners and at work?
